Service Description

Massage Therapy is a series of non-invasive techniques that massage muscles, move joints, and stimulate circulation. These methods require specific training in this field and are done using only the hands and body massage soft tissues. I call it, "Touch with Intention." Why Massage? Tight or painful muscle can cause a dog to exhibit unwanted behaviors due to pain and stiffness. When dogs resist moving in a particular way, it can be a sign of discomfort or pain. Massage techniques can help relieve pain and tension in sore muscles. These issues can be altered with proper use of techniques such as: effleurage, kneading techniques, and joint movement. Recovery from illness can be improved with the use of massage! Benefits of Massage - Massage physically relaxes the body which can help reduce stress, anxiety and calm the nerves. -Flushing and stretching muscles can increase mobility in geriatric dogs or those who are recovering from injury or surgery. -General health can improve with the circulation throughout the body. This is especially beneficial for dogs with heart conditions (some cases will require permission from the veterinarian to begin massage therapy). -Massage using light techniques can help timid dogs bond with the human touch. -Deep tissue massage releases toxins from the body. Massage Therapy Does Not: -Cure every issue with your pet -Take place of veterinarian prescribed care -Diagnose, although it can help report unusual findings.
